Understand the Role
Government is a human institution ordained by God.
Government exists to punish evil and praise good.
We need to remember that God is ultimately in control.
Submit
We are called to bring ourselves under the authority of government.
All our submission is with the higher authority in mind.
The goal of our submission is to show the greatness of God.
Free
Our freedom comes from the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
We can’t use our freedom as an excuse to sin.
We must show appropriate honor, love, and fear.
